St. Luke's Episcopal

St. Luke's Episcopal Church

Jackson, Tennessee

This 1850s church, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was completely destroyed during a tornado.  Hord Architects was hired to reconstruct and expand the church.  This included rebuilding and expanding the nave and narthex while paying attention to historic detail and materials, both interior and exterior.  In addition, the church gained a Master Plan that reflected the best long-term use of two adjacent land acquisitions.  Hord Architects received the Award of Merit for Renovation/Restoration by the American Institute of Architects Memphis Chapter for the design on this project.
