A new reredos and platform were designed and built in an effort to restore liturgical integrity and reverence to this post-conciliar church.
Simplified details, robust proportions, and a patterned floor are all drawn from medieval Assisi – the time and place of St. Francis. Liturgical appointments were carefully selected to integrate with the overall design, including crucifix, tabernacle, candlesticks, and altar chairs. New accent lighting and the existing sound system have been discreetly incorporated to serve the architecture without being architectural features.
From the outset, the goal was beatification through a reorientation to Christ in the Eucharist.
