This custom capital on the entry of Holy Angels Catholic Church is a direct interpretation of the columns on Solomon’s temple (1 Kings 7:40-44). Pomegranates also adorned the hems of the temple priests - symbolizing abundance and the fulfilled promises of God as well as foreshadowing the heavenly food of the New Covenant.
