Germantown Presbyterian Church
Germantown Presbyterian Church
GERMANTOWN, TENNESSEE
This church has completed all three phases of their master plan - a graceful resolution to their circulation problems, a memorial garden, and a renovation of their chapel and fellowship hall.
The 16,500 square foot addition ties together three existing buildings from three different decades while providing a new, attractive main facade. The addition is designed in the Colonial American language of architecture to respect the history and tradition of the existing campus. The main component of the addition is a new welcome center on the west side of the campus featuring an open staircase and balcony. Also included is a large administration suite on the ground floor which combined prior office locations from various places around the building. On the second level is the music suite, additional Sunday school classrooms, and a dedicated Youth Room.
The renovation of the fellowship hall, chapel, and classroom spaces aesthetically ties together the campus and solves several drainage and circulation issues on the site.
The memorial garden provides an elegant exterior space between the chapel and fellowship hall with connecting loggia.
